Nintendo DS Lite Game Recommendations

I hate to sound like an advertisement, but I'd be curious to hear why you got a DS instead of a PSP. PSPs play movies, MP3s, and games I like (Metal Gear, Ace Combat, GTA). It also browses the internet much better than my Blackberry does, although it requires WiFi to do so. And I hear it can be hacked to play NES and SNES emulators, although I have not done this yet. To be honest I almost never use my PSP, but when I do (long flights, or getting to an airshow super-early to get a good spot) I'm very happy about all it can do.

BM: I didn't really even consider the PSP... but there's no important reason why not. I've never owned a Sony console, and the games have never been that tempting to me for whatever reason. I've heard good things about the DS and the games I've seen have looked quite fun. Plus, it's a lot cheaper than the PSP. I didn't do a lot of research though... just been thinking about getting a DS for a while :)

There's nothing wrong with the DS--it's a very capable platform.

Recommendations partly depend on what you like playing. New Super Mario is a good game. Final Fantasy III was ported and redone in 3D. There's a pair of Castlevania games. There's a bunch of RPGs, altho I haven't tried anywhere near all of them.

Don't forget the DS plays GBA games too, and there's a crapload of good GBA games. I highly recommend Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.

Hah. There are still a lot of used GBA games selling for over $20.

At any rate, there are a ton of good games for both platforms.
