Why do I pay attention to anecdotal evidence? Because academics are always the last to find out what's happening. If you wait until a social trend turns up in some professor's peer-reviewed charts,** you are waiting too long. ... Even if they are only moving around internally, this could be a large and portentous demographic shift. In a decade someone will get tenure for discovering it.
Don't doubt it.
I warned you. The drop in illegal immigration plus the Exodus of those already here is contributing to the housing and subprime lending crisis. My home has lost over 10% of its peak value already. If this trend continues, remember my admonition that we could go into a long term and serious recession or worse. Little changes at the margins can create massive swings.
