I hadn't considered it before, but since women live longer than men it really makes sense that women earn less. If your life is 10% longer, then your time is certainly worth less!

I dunno, Michael. You could also conclude that women earn more over a lifetime because they live longer. Or you could argue that the extra 10% is usually nonproductive years, so women collect social security, etc, longer than men, and therefore they cost more.
But let's be a little more serious. The whole 'pay gap' nonsense was always a politically attractive conclusion in search of support, much like global warming or countless other scares from the Left. And given the complexity of wage data, any half-competent statistician can always spin the figures to show whatever disparity he has been paid to support.
