I highly doubt Rumsfeld would've been pushed out if the Republicans hadn't done so badly in the election.
And I reject, wholly, the notion that Iraq is a black-and-white choice between "Cut and Run" and "Stay the Course" and that the American people have chosen "Cut and Run". Of all the foolishness to come from neo-conservatives, that takes the cake.
