Seeing the constant headlines about rioting Muslims gets a little wearying, but it's good to see there's at least one sensible Muslim who has a tiny bit of perspective.
Two Jordanian newspaper editors who published cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad have been arrested. ...Mr Momani's arrest came earlier on Saturday, a day after Jordanian King Abdullah condemned the cartoons as an unnecessary abuse of freedom of speech.
Mr Momani's paper, Shihan, had printed three of the cartoons, alongside an editorial questioning whether the angry reaction to them in the Muslim world was justified.
"Muslims of the world be reasonable," wrote Mr Momani.
"What brings more prejudice against Islam, these caricatures or pictures of a hostage-taker slashing the throat of his victim in front of the cameras or a suicide bomber who blows himself up during a wedding ceremony in Amman?"
Or, perhaps even more prejudicial, widespread rioting and arson prompted by the caricatures?
In a public letter of apology after his sacking, Mr Momani said he did not mean to cause offence, Reuters news agency reported.
When I think of all the "art" created whose sole purpose is to offend Christians, I wonder why no one bothers directing the same attention towards Islam, a far less liberal religion. Maybe it's because when you offend Muslims you have to go into hiding.

these people are nuts. where do they get off thinking that others must respect their religion. i don't care if they respect mine because it is MINE. i don't care what they do with the bible or if they draw cartoons of jesus. if god is god then he can take care of any offenses thrown his way. why do i not respect islam? because it's a joke. lets see, we have a god that tells his followers to kill others (women and children included) by wrapping themselves in explosives. and when they do this their reward is what??? sex!!! sex with 72 women who aren't thier wives. wonder what the females suicide bombers get, 72 virgin men? if this were my god i would have some serious questions. its also funny how they raised hell when they thought some u.s. servicemen had flushed a copy of their holy book down the toilet. once it came out that it was a muslim trying to stop up the toilet then everyone got quiet and it went away. i guess it depends on who is doing the flushing. kind of like the "N" word isn't it. its time to take the gloves off wit these folks and call it like it is.
Hi Michael, I'm writing to encourage you to post copies of the cartoons in question on your blog. Say anything you want about them--but post them. If you don't, then they win.
