It's my 28th birthday, huzzah! For whatever reason I don't have the mixed uh-oh-I'm-getting-older feeling this year that I've had in the past. Maybe I've embraced my decrepitude? Anyway, I'm now the same age I was when my mom had me, which is kinda weird because I'm a long way away from having kids and I don't feel that old. <Cartman voice>Whatever, I'll do what I want!</Cartment voice>

A youthful wife will do that.

My mom had her first child at 21 and since I turned 26 yesterday I would have a kindergartner now if I had followed in her footsteps. I feel much too young for kids though, so I'm glad I didn't.

Anyway, Happy birthday, Michael!

An important consideration for when in life you want to have kids is the age in your life that you want to be done with raising them. Considering that you'll have them "under your wing", so to speak, for at least 18 years.. if you're 28 now, you'll be 46 before they can leave the house. If you're okay with that and everything, great.. but just so you keep that in mind.

Mark: Don't try to convince Michael that he needs to have kids ASAP. My ovaries are going to remain dormant for several more years!

DD: I'm sure any influence I might have in that regard would be trivial at best.

Happy birthday!

When my mom was 28 I was 12. I wasn't even pregnant with my first when I was 28. So, yes, 28 was a lot younger for me than it was for my mother. Thank goodness. You know, she was OLD when I was 12.

it's clearly not time for kids yet, no-one wants Cartman for a father...

Happy Birthday Michael!

Heh, when my parents were 28, I was still years away from being born. I turned 28 myself back in April, and we had our first child in June (He turned 6 months old yesterday). The funny thing is that my wife's grandmother is only 2 years older than my mother.
