I just wanted to share that I've bought six 20-ounce bottles of Diet Coke over the past couple of weeks and won three free 1-liter bottles! Supposedly the chance of winning is 1-in-6, so it looks like I'm beating the odds. Since three liters is over 100 ounces, I've gotten 220 ounces for the price of 120 ounces -- a spectacular 45% discount! This really makes my day.

There's about a 5% probability of that occuring, or about 1 in 20. That's not really very rare; you must be easy to please if that makes your day.
I'm not a fan of the free coke every 1-in-6 thing. It's just another way for Coca-Cola to obscure the actual cost of their product, vaguely analogous to frequent flyer programs at airlines. Plus, not everywhere accepts the free Coke lids, adding additional barriers to your supposed "bonus" Cokes. I like to have a well-defined non-probabilistic price, with no games.
Now I know where all my caps went!
Carl: Hm... I think frequent flier programs are quite a bit more complicated and do a lot more than mere price discrimination.
But yes, I am easy to please!
