A new species of monkey has been discovered in Tanzania, proving the law of evolution once and for all. Evidence indicates that the "highland mangabey" or "Lophocebus kipunji" monkey is actually descended from humans, thus completing the so-called "circle of life" that scientists claim "moves us all". The article makes no mention of the national security implications of humans that spontaneously evolve into deadly monkeys, but the Pentagon is holding press conference this afternoon and promising to help the monkeys "find their place on the path unwinding".

It leaves my important question unanswered...
How does it taste?

Are you being sarcastic?
My question is...
If it is a newly evolved species that managed to occur naturally in nature, why are they now trying to classify it as "extremely endangered"? Seems like it does not need our help to thrive and populate. Who are we to classify it as endangered? Maybe we are the ones who are...
Eric: The classification of "endangered" often has little to do with the species' ability to thrive and populate.
The term "endangered" speaks to the risk of extinction due to a combination of factors including small population, shrinking food supply, and shrinking habitat and environment.
Mark,
The problem with blogs is that there is no tone of voice to inflect a level of sarcasm. I get all that you said but I was really only joking. Thank you however for the reply.
This blog is freakin awesome! Deadly Monkeys, Canada's Pathetic Politics, and Star Wars! What more could a poor boy like me want?
Blog On, man!
Michael, you're babbling.
If you think this discovery, or the way it has been reported, says something interesting about Darwinian explanations of our origins, you should just that, and say why you think that.
As it is, I'm guessing that you're trying for humor, via sarcasm, but I've read your posting three times, now, and I'm not getting it.
Er, "just _say_ that".
You guys are a bunch of humorless orangutans.
Said with love, of course.
Hairy apes with smashed-in faces are my favorite type of animal. And no, it's not about Michael Moore.
MW: Nice post on monkeys. I wonder if you're single.
