I got a phone call from Google today asking if I'd like to join their AdSense program, which I found a bit odd... but I decided to try it out. So now there are "targeted" ads in the right sidebar, and it's actually quite entertaining to see how they change depending on what I post.

In other news, I need a new whimage to post in the upper left corner, since Valentine's Day was nearly a month ago. Anyone got any ideas for a great picture to post?

Perhaps a toolbelt or large toolbox with a wide variety of tools, to go with the "jack of all trades" theme.

Why don't you use a java script and have it load a random picture everytime the page loads. Of course you'd have to size all the pictures to be the same width, as height wouldn't matter too much (unless it's as tall as your Google ad block). This way you wouldn't have to settle on just one picture, you could have a variety of pictures that just scream "Michael Williams".

Whatever you do, please don't do a St. Patrick's Day picture just because it occurs in March. If you're Irish and/or Catholic it's fine, but it just irks me when non-Irish non-Catholics decorate for St. Paddy's day just because Easter falls in April.

Personally, I'm a fan of tulips and other bulb flowers, especially crocuses poking out of the snow. So I'm going to suggest a picture of crocuses poking out of the snow.

Sorry, my bad: Easter is at the end of March this year. But that's almost April, right??

1. What if he is Scottish?, after all St. Patrick was born in Scotland.
2. What about us engineers? Patrick is our patron saint.

All I see right now are HIV testing ads. Very odd.

OK, if you have any sort of tie to St. Patrick, it's OK. But if the only tie you have to St. Patrick is that it's March, put up pictures of flowers or Easter-related stuff. That's all I'm saying. I'm not trying to debate a passage in the Talmud or something.
