I spent my afternoon and evening writing 18 query letters and preparing 12 copies of my manuscript to send to publishers. I scoured the web and Writer's Market 2004 for contact information and submission guidelines, and I think everything is in place. My letter is good. Now I just have to wait six months to hear back from anyone.

Good luck! I'll be watching. If it goes to press, I'll buy one if you'll autograph it for me.
As far as the query letters -- Be prepared for bitter bitter disappointment. Spoken by one who's been there.
Of course, maybe I just sucked...
Yeah, one of my writing teachers once said you have to send, send, send.. She'd sent out one manuscript 40 times - it was rejected every time, but the 41st was a charm - it went on to win the O. Henry award (the highest you can get for a short story - other winners include Stephen King)..
Thanks guys. I sent the book to all the publishers I could find who publish this sort of material and don't require an agent. If no one likes it, I'll have to start submitting it to agents. That's ok too, but more letter writing and mailing....
