I'm using some new technology: Gmail and Firefox. I need to start migrating off my UCLA email address since I'll be finishing school there soon (please), and I was tired of IE and Mozilla. So let's see how it goes, hm?
My new email address is plasticATgmailDOTcom.

Both GMail and Firefox are awesome. Welcome to the club!

I've been using Firefox for the past 1.5 years. The recent 0.9 upgrade didn't work with all the extensions when I attempted to install them -- especially the Google Bar. I'm sticking with 0.8 for a little while longer. But it's a great browser. Setup your mouse with a Unix-like "middle-button" and power-surf!
No GMail yet for me. (Though if anyone out there still has some accounts to hand out, I certainly wouldn't refuse one.) But I'll agree about FireFox. After years as a diehard IE user I'm using Firefox almost exclusively at home, except for remote access to a few specialized intranet apps that require IE. Version 0.8 was the first release that seemed worth using, and 0.9 is generally more stable and perhaps a bit faster.
NAG, you may want to try the Firefox Googlebar extension again. It didn't work for me at first, either (it would act as though it had installed, but never actually appeared) but I've now installed it on two machines this week without a problem. I've also installed a passel of other extensions that I'd used under 0.8 (including Magpie, Web Dev toolbar, and IE View).
Kudos to Firefox... but why GMail? Whatever is wrong with the plain old fashioned Pop3 account? I find the flexibility of my mail client trumps anything a web based mail reader can offer, and with no "relevant text ads" to ignore.
Full disclosure- I use IE when I have to, but am migrating from Mozilla to Firefox. E-mail client is Becky!
My one disatisfaction w/ Firefox is the seperate google bar... I really liked the feature of being able to do a google search from the address bar. The fewer bars cluttering my screen, the better!
Hi Michael,
Congrats on the switch to Firefox.
I was wondering if I could get a bit of feedback from you regarding a UCLA Firefox toolbar that we recently launched?
It searches google, UCLA, UCLA Library, and gives you direct links to UCLA Mail and MY UCLA.
If you have a sec, please check it out.
