Yeah, right. I read this link, and it's absolutely *amazing* what a conspiracy-obsessed mind will accept. First of all, frequently the quote says "most cases" or "many times", and the conclusion is that this is then established without a doubt. Huh?

But oddly enough, Cutting Edge *completely accepts* (albeit implicitly) the fundamental premise of occultists, " ... symbols [possess] inherent power once they are created..." - and that on the face of it is complete nonsense. Without comprehension, *can it even be a symbol*?

The "encoding" is also complete nonsense. The fundamental shapes of planar geometry are all given "meanings" - line (vertical and horizontal), circle, triangle, square, and pentagon are given significance ... but tell me; precisely what city in the entire world is laid out without any of those forms? Hmm?

The numerical "deconstruction" is similar. The numbers one through five and most of the prime numbers are said to have certain meanings, which allows the paranoid conspiracy seeker to "decode" virtually any number into a "message" - one he put there himself, simply by his fervent desire to believe in hidden malveolence.

Really, folks: if you're committed to the Christian faith, keep your eye on the ball. Act with charity. Judge with compassion. Vote for the rule of law over whim, and enact righetous laws. Tend to your children and spouse with all the energy of heart. The battle of good and evil takes place in our minds and hearts, not in the streetplans of any metropolis. Building a city based on irregular polygons and irrational numbers won't be any more holy than any other, and given the traffic congestion that would inevitably follow, would probably be more profane than most.

For the sake of argument (not having a map of D.C. to refer to), I'll grant that there are some symbols that can be found in the layout of D.C. Stop me if I'm wrong, but I didn't see in that article a single shred of evidence that this was deliberately constructed into Washington D.C. If it were, there ought to at least have been a timeline given that showed that these sites were reserved for these purposes before the remainder of the city was constructed around them. Without a timeline like that, there is not even a shred of evidence that this was done deliberately.

And as far as the numerology goes, which isn't far: if you fish hard enough you can find a meaning in one culture or another for any number that happens to fit your interpretation of the number's significance. The conflation of the I Ching's and Satanism's interpretations of various numbers and positions is just appalling. And 17% of all integers can be decomposed as a sum of 6's.

You don't seriously believe this sort of thing without evidence, do you Michael? Say it isn't so. Thus far I've taken you for a rational person.

WH: Actually, in this instance, there's no question but that Pierre L'Enfant, friend of George Washington and designer of Washington DC, purposefully incorporated Masonic symbols into the city layout.

Funny, I'd always heard the city was designed like the spoke of a wheel to contribute to a "centered" town and that lots of early cities were dsesgned in this fashion (the most important building or buildings being located in the center with everything else spiraling out around them). By the time the settlers got out west, they had gotten smart enough to chart the land and divide things based more on squares (hence the more straight edges on western states) rather than my state which has a river as one of it's borders (Ohio).

omfg. whoever wrote that article has a little too much time on thier hands and isn't very smart in the first place. in no way is freemasonry established or affiliated with satanism, unless theres a rare case of some nutjob that happens to be a freemason and a satanist. pierre designed this city using geometric shapes and cross streets to confuse armys marching upon the city. the fact that satanic symbols are geometric shapes isnt surprising... lots of symbols are geometric genius, its an unside down star, dont look too much into it. this was a waste of my time and a waste of whoever wrote it. glad they got it out of thier system, its a waste of life to dwell on these things. interesting and coincidental they may be but not something to consume your life.

Just because you don't see it, does not mean it is not there. Look into important dates in the USA all of them are chosen for the most powerful astrological aspects. Ben Franklin was an accomplished astrologer, Poor Richards Almanac. He chose to delay the signing of the Declaration of Independance 2 days to move the moon out of Capricorn and into Aquarius and for maximum power, which is why the US has been such a success. The USA was born with Pluto in Capricorn, and alas we return to Pluto Capricorn Jan 2008 and finally in 2022 Pluto will return to the degree of 1776 at which time I expect the USA to die. It is all unfolding to plan, and next 15 years are going to be bloody and painful for America. Whatever they had in mind they can't change the movement of the planets that affect everything on earth. The stars are not evil, humanity is evil.
