I'd like you to all to comment on any real life fights you've been in.
I've only hit people twice with the intention of actually hurting them. The first time was in the third grade. I got ear infections a lot, and my mom made me wear these wool hats to keep the wind off my head. My best friend Jake would always grab my hat off my head and run around with it, making me chase him. I told the teachers but they never did anything to stop him. I told my dad, and he told me that the next time Jake took my hat I should punch him in the stomach and take it back.
So I did. The teachers were mad and they called my dad. They said, "Michael punched Jake. That's bad." My dad said, "Yeah, I told him to, since you weren't doing your job." That was the last I heard of the issue.
The second time was in the fifth grade. I asked to be excused from class to go to the bathroom, and a minute or so after I got there the class bully followed me inside. We were alone, and he started pushing me into the wall and making fun of me. Using the tactic my dad had taught me two years earlier, I punched him in the solar plexus under his ribs and he collapsed onto the ground. I went back to class.
The bully came back into the room about 15 minutes later and didn't say anything to anyone, as far as I know. He never bothered me again.
I don't know if these really qualify as "fights", but that's all I've got.

The last time I got into a fight was about five or six years ago. It wasn't really a "fight." I tackled a guy and attempted to hit him below the belt (he was a lot bigger than me) but we were separated quickly. It was because he had previously hurled empty beer bottles at myself and his sister(my then girlfriend).
Before that, when I was thirteen or fourteen, my cousin and I had two testosterone influenced fights. We never went for the face, just the chest and back, and it wasn't too serious -- lasted all of about forty-five seconds.
Once another cousin punched me square in the mouth, busting my bottom lip, after I started pounding on him for stealing my bike.
That's about it. Nothing too serious, and nothing since I was fifteen or so and that testosterone induced stupidity wore off.
No fighting. Not a one.
I did stab a kid with a pencil, once - similar situation as yours (behavior that wouldn't cease). And he went to my church...and his mother approved of my action. He let me be after that incident.
hln
I've never been in a fight either, but like the above comment, I did stab (or more like nicked) a girl's hand with a pencil once. This happened on the bus in the 8th grade. We had assigned seats and these two girls behind me were always insulting me and pulling my hair. So, one day I just had enough and nicked one of the girl's hands with a freshly sharpened pencil.
Of course, she yelped like she was mortally wounded and the bus driver sent me to the dean's office when I got to school. I explained the whole situation to the dean. She let me go without punishment and told me not to do it again.
Oh, and the two bully girls left me alone after that incident. :-)
No fights for me either. I can recall my little sister punching me in the back a few times, because I was specifically walking away instead of hitting her.
I have mouthed off to a few people in my day, but nothing physical (yet).
I almost got into a fight once. I accidentally looked a black girl in the eye.
See, my parents had taught me that black people were just like everyone else, only they happened to have dark skin. They also taught me to look people in the eye out of respect. Then they moved us to Los Angeles. I discovered that not everyone agreed with my parents.
I didn't even know the girl into whose eye I had looked; I just saw her in the halls and met her gaze like everyone else's. She had her heavily eye-shadowed white friend come threaten to beat me up for looking at her. Evidently it's provocative to some people, rather than being a sign of respect. After that I learned real quick to lower my eyes when a black person passed in the halls.
Wacky: Don't feel as though you were discriminated against. I had similar dealing with black girls when in school. Funny thing is, I was a black girl too. Them's the breaks.
My mom used to make my sister and I fight if we were arguing to the point that we were really aggravating her. My (younger) sister would spin in circles with her elbows locked and hands in fists while I would beg my mom to make her stop. Then mom always made us kiss and hug afterwards. I hated that but we are all great friends now.
The only other "fight" I was in was more like assault. I was in band class and there was an African-American guy who called me "a little white girl" so I called him a "little black boy." I thought that was the end of it. After my next class a large African-American girl (who I didn't know and had never seen before) came up to me and said, "My brother said you called him a n****r." I said, "No, I don't use that word." She disappeared into a sea of people and then re-appeared a few seconds later and said, "Well he said you called him that and he doesn't lie." I said, "Well, he's wrong and I don't want to fight." I kept trying to step around her and finally, she hauled off and hit me right above the eye and then took off. I swear it felt like she had brass knuckles on even though all I saw was her bare fist. Two guys witnessed it. One was a skinny, scrawny guy who wouldn't tell the dean what she looked like because he was afraid of retaliation. The other was my ex. He was sitting in the dean's office the next day and was waiting to talk to him about what happened to me. There were two girls in the office with him and one of them asked the other what she was doing down there. She said, "Some girl called David a 'n' so I hit her." Unfortunately even though my ex and I were supposedly friends, he didn't mention this to the dean when he got called in to talk to him but he had no problem telling me what he had overheard later. She never got in trouble and apparently the guy was her "brotha" and not her brother.
I'm sorry to say this but like some of you here I've had problems with black people too. I'm mixed & I happen to look European. Very slim & petite, very pale, long silky hair, button nose, blue eyes...that definitely bothers a lot of black girls in my hometown of Miami, Florida. I don't look like a black chick at all. In middle & high school, they HATED me because I was mostly an "A" student who spoke well.
Oh, and I dated an African-American boy who happened to be 6'1", good-looking, and built. This was high school and trust me, there were plenty of black girls who threatened to beat me up. Like, look at that white bitch over there! She's showing off. What's he doing with her? This "white bitch" happened to be mixed-race, thanks much...
There were some Black girls who made fun of me constantly, talking about my clothes, my shoes, being all loud and obnoxious, not caring whether I could hear. One day it really bothered me & I sort of shot them a look. One of them said,"Don't be rolling your eyes this way, bitch." Well, I'm sorry, but I wasn't about to let some jealous cow intimidate me. I said, very quietly, "What do you plan to do about it?" Her friends were all like, ooh, knock her ass out! She stood up, took off her jewelry, and walked over. She liked my boyfriend and it pissed her off that he was with me, a pretty little fair-skinned girl. We were both about 16 or 17. She didn't know me, just wanted to pick a fight. I was scared but didn't show it. I'm 21 now & I'd NEVER been in any type of physical confrontation before, or suspended from school for any reason.
She shoved me so hard that I nearly fell down & I shoved her back. Then she hit me with her open hand & I did the same. That made her really mad and she punched me. I pulled out some of her hair & managed to give her a nosebleed, while I got some bruises. Her friends tried to jump me a week after the incident. That's the only fight I've ever had.
Man... I'm just from small old topeka kansas but that must be like the ghetto ya'll... cause ya'll fights is wack i've been in so many fights i can't even count them all but one fight that stuck out to me was when i got jumped because i was talkin about this guys girlfriend or some shit and they decided to do it at a party
