This is just a little bizarre to me, but apparently John Kerry had a dog named VC while he was in Vietnam.

The amazing thing to me is that Kerry was actually able to take a question about a pet and turn it into a Vietnam story.
Favorite pet: VC the Vietnamese dog
Favorite food: The rice we picked ourselves as we slogged through a paddy and boiled in our helmets while I stood guard over my band of brothers.
Favorite color: Jungle Camo, stained with the blood of my best friend, the company Chaplain, who died in my arms after a friendly-fire incident.
Favorite childhood experience: I didn't really grow up until I went to Vietnam, so I would say the first time I saw the sunset over the Mekong Delta, as I ducked incoming mortar fire.
I don't think it's really that odd. I remember reading about instances where troops in other wars named pets after things associated with the enemy. Naming pets 'Jerry' during the World Wars, that sort of thing.

The Viet Cong were the SOUTH Vietnamese enemy. Also known as Victor Charlie and Mister Charles.
The North Viets were NVA: uniformed, regular army troops.

No... Viet Cong were the North vietnameese IREGULJARS,,, as in GUERILLA`s and the NVA was of course the North Vietnameese army i.e "Regulars" =)

Kerry: when i was in Vietnam, we were covered in agent orange and trapsing through the jungles. agent orange concerns many people also. my cancer wasn't caused by agent orange but many people with my cancer think it was and are concerned about agent orange and it's cancer causing abilities which concerns me although i am not concerned.

Just a quick note......Forget Vietnam, they still won't do business with you...The bottom line is we can't believe your people think Bush will win some kind of war in the Middle East...His father wouldn't do it and neither will he, don't you people south of our border realize your Republican administrations make money suppling arms to the enemy.....we all know it around the world because we buy from you too. mabey it's time you think about it......We challenge you all to look at the length of wars run by Democrats to the length of wars run by Republicans...The proof is in your history books check it out
