I've been playing Final Fantasy Tactics Advance recently, and it's reminded me of everything I love about party-building adventure games. As with all such games, FFTA is an exercise in inching your stats ever higher, but it's a bit more interactive than some other offerings. I'm sure I'll tire of it long before I finish, but it's a nice way to kill time while my PhD simulation is running in the background.

The comment login system is acting strange. If you get an error message saying you aren't logged in when you are, just reload the comment page and try again. I'm trying to track this bug down, but it's not easy.

FFTA rules. If you want a slightly different experience (if you are stretching the definition you could maybe call it a cheat) go to gamefaqs.org and read the stealing faq. This will give you the Steal Ability ability far earlier than you could normally get it, which gives you the Steal Weapon ability early on too, which has all sorts of advantages: stealing weapons means your enemies do much less damage, you can get some good weapons to use, and you can loot the heck out of enemies and sell the weapons, which gives you a lot of cash, not that it's much of an issue after the early part of the game.
I just started playing that game. I'm a little confused by it, but that could be because I haven't played it much yet.
Emulator or GBA? I can imagine it would be hard without the manual.
Technically, I probably shouldn't be helping people playing on emulators, but if that's the case just go to Gamefaqs and read the early part of some of the walkthrus. They explain the backstory, how the buttons work, etc.
