Can anyone tell me what's special about this February 2nd? Here's a hint: it was even more special four years ago.

Something to do with Leap Year Groundhogs?
I'm not sure what could've made it more special four years ago, but this February 2nd I'm going to California!
It's my Grandma's birthday and it was more special four years ago because she was still alive then!
February 2nd, 2004, is the first even date in over a year.
February 2nd, 2000, was the first even date in over a thousand years -- since August 28th, 888.
The next odd date won't be until January 1st, 3111. I can't wait!
Oh. I thought it was
02
+02
04
and
02
-02
00
But what do I know?
Care to define exactly what you mean by "even date" and "odd date"?
It's even if all the digits in the date are even, likewise for odd. Most dates aren't either. For example, in 2003 there wasn't a single odd or even day.
