While on the way home from work, I was listening to the John and Ken Show and heard an interesting new angle of the drivers-licenses-for-illegal-immigrants issue. Once illegal immigrants have drivers licenses, there won't be any way to prevent them from buying guns "legally", despite the many laws in place (particularly after 9/11) designed to control non-citizens' access to weapons.
Naturally, this problem has leftist gun-control advocates up in arms (heh). Oh no wait, it doesn't. They don't care if criminals get guns, they're only concerned at the prospect of law-abiding citizens arming themselves.
Furthermore, long guns are illegal in Mexico; increasing the availability of guns to illegal immigrants will certainly fuel the gun-running operations that already plague our border.
The results of the left's policies are often so twisted and bizarre that they'd be laughable, if they weren't so dangerous.
Driver licenses for illegals is a joke, as are some of the fear-nation inspired laws after 9/11. Depriving the people of certain rights is not lowering crime, a Bank Robber is NOT gonna be affected by stupid waiting periods or carrying permits. only we are. where does it stop, knives? cars?
But license for those awaiting status legally in the USA and dependant on lame backlogs who are NOT middle easteners and still need to pick up groceries for their US resident family and Us citizen girlfriend- a license becomes a necessity in certain states. Pre-requisites should be at least a US HS degree or equivalent
and of course legal status just like any regular joe.
the anti-gun liberals are misled on the whole gun deal...just like conservatives are misled on the whole marihuana deal. Personal rights, personal choices.
